Intruder Meets Armed Homeowner

The results of that meeting should not surprise anyone. Phoenix police: Homeowner shoots intruder

After repeated warnings to leave the property, the bad-guy ignored the man with the gun, and started climbing through the window.

According to [Sgt. Vince Lewis, a Phoenix police spokesman], the homeowner, who is in his 60s, told police that he heard glass break and saw someone in the backyard trying to get into his house through a window. The homeowner said he warned the intruder that he had a gun and told him to leave the property twice before opening fire. It appeared the man, whom police described as being between 17 and 20 years old, was partially through the window when the homeowner shot him, Lewis said.

The now-injured bad guy escaped over the fence, and made it about 5 houses away. That is where emergency crews found him with life-threatening injuries. He is not expected to survive.

If you break into homes, you will eventually find an armed homeowner. Good Guys 1, Bad Guys 0. Self-defense is a human right.
