Even in the Peoples’ Republic of California, if you break into homes, you will eventually find an armed resident. Alleged Intruder Fatally Shot by Resident in Santa Clarita Area: Sheriff’s Dept. | KTLA
He tried to break into an apartment, even though the folks inside told him to leave. When he broke a window and climbed in, he was shot multiple times, and pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Neighbors described the residential area as “quiet,” and said they were stunned to learn of the fatal shooting.
“It’s quiet, I’ve lived here probably 7.5 years and we’ve never had anything,” resident Shelly Molinar said. “So, it’s kind of scary … because you feel like you live in a safe neighborhood.”
Because it is more important to “feel safe” than it is to actuall be safe. At least to a large number of people.
