Caracas, Venezuela is the world’s most dangerous city, and things are getting worse. Life in Venezuela’s – and the World’s – Most Violent City | Americas Quarterly
In the following Q&A, [city councilman Jesús] Armas discusses with AQ how this violence affects his constituents, its economic roots in hyperinflation and food shortages
Socialists control Venezuela. And the same could be said of Chicago, Detroit, and a few other American cities that are also incredibly violent.
Armas has this interesting observation, that may apply to more than just Caracas.
Likewise, the state has implemented a policy that has nothing to do with protecting life, liberty and property of citizens, but on the contrary, has driven a socialist model that seeks to limit those freedoms, using crime as a way to maintain power and control of the population. But the truth is that today things are out of control and we are left with a failed state in which the so-called peace zones are micro-states controlled by gangsters and not by constitutional institutions.
It was only a few years ago that folks from Hollywood couldn’t wait to fly to Venezuela to bask in the glory of socialism. Wonder why those trips aren’t in the news recently?
