You think you live in an area where crime never happens? You are wrong. Oviedo homeowner shoots alleged intruder
Fairly standard story of a bad-guy trying to break into a home attracting the attention of an armed homeowner. He was shot when he charged at the homeowner. (Floridians are almost as heavily armed as Texans.)
The neighbor was
shocked startled by the fact that crime happens in that neighborhood.
“I’ve been here almost 30 years, nothing ever happens like that out here,” said [the neighbor]. “It’s just unbelievable.”
Because apparently he thought that crime happened in “different kinds of places,” to “different kinds of people,” and that he was immune to the problems of society. He was wrong.
If you are reading this, then you live in the Real World™, and that is a place where crime can (and does) happen. You are not immune. You may be at a statistically decreased chance of being the victim of a crime, but the probability is not zero.
As for the bad guy, he got carted off to the hospital by police.
Self-defense is a human-right. Good Guys 1, Bad Guys 0.
