Chicagoese is definitely its own dialect, verging sometimes on a distinct language. Though occasionally a word does make the jump to the rest of the country. “Clout” (in its political power meaning) is such a word.
Frunch room, The Jewels, Saaasage, throw me down the stairs my hat and coat, dese dem and doze, etc. … All this is pure Chicago … and must be preserved!!!
