Linkin Park did a pretty good job of taking Nu Metal and adapting it to a commercial audience in their first 2 albums Hybrid Theory and Metamora. Which made them sound a little contrived to me. Metal as it would be according to the suits in the American Music industry. Not too challenging, nothing too experimental or new. Canned. Still, they were popular. (Maybe they still are popular.) And it is also why they aren’t part of Metal for Mondays. This is too Pop to be Metal. The guitars are not screaming. The drums are not thundering. And I make the rules.

This is “Numb” by Linkin Park from their 2003 album Metamora. (YouTube. Browser privacy extensions. “Video Unavailable.” Use the link provided.)
