What Happens When Students Are Better at Cybersecurity Than School Administrators?

The administrators get schooled. Students Hack School System to Change Grades and Attendance.

Like a modern day WarGames, students in Michigan have hacked into a school district’s computer system and changed grades and attendance records.

The parents have been notified, but apparently not the police. (Hacking is a federal crime, with stiff penalties.) And they got caught this time. Do you think this is the first time the school got hacked?

While the linked article references the grade-changing scene from the movie WarGames, I always like the bit from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off much better.

The scene from WarGames can be found at this link.
