He Suffered a Failure of the Victim-selection Process

He thought breaking into a home would be a good thing to do. He was wrong. Homeowner shoots, kills intruder, Clayton County police say.

The homeowner told police he was awakened by a loud banging at his front door. According to police, he said the man broke a glass pane next to the door and reached through to unlock the door before heading up the stairs.

The homeowner grabbed his rifle and fired several shots at the intruder, police said.

It was not a head-shot. Not a shot to center-mass. He was shot in “the lower extremities.” It still proved fatal. He died at a local hospital.

Self-defense is a human-right.
