“Sweet Home Chicago” from the 1980 Chicagofest

The late 1970s and early 1980s was a good time for The Blues in Chicago. Buddy Guy had a club in town. (In 1980 he was still at The Checkerboard, the South Side Club where The Rolling Stones stopped in for a visit one evening.) And the 1980 Chicagofest reflected that. Muddy Waters. Koko Taylor. Mighty Joe Young.

This is “Sweet Home Chicago” by Lonnie Brooks, recorded live at the 1980 Chicagofest, and on the album XRT Blues Deluxe (1980).
