Armed self-defense. It might be legal in California. Burglars evade gunfire from Sunol homeowner, but not arrest.
A homeowner interrupts 2 people burglarizing his car. Then things turn nasty.
The homeowner, who was not identified, said he began shooting at the suspects when they intentionally drove at him in a vehicle and tried to run him over, Kelly said. The homeowner was lawfully defending himself, [Sgt. Ray] Kelly said.
Neither burglar was hit, but the car was, and cops were able to identify it and arrest two would-be miscreants, separately, later. A man and a woman, both in their 30s were arrested. The man is being held without bail on burglary and assault with a deadly weapon. He was on probation for felony burglary. The woman has bail set, and is charged with burglary.
Self-defense is a human-right.
