More Kids Shot in Chicago

The first incident happened while she was riding in a car-seat in the back of her mother’s car. Wounded baby girl recovering after Bishop Ford shooting; $10K reward offered.

Bishop Ford Expressway, also known as I-94 is a major north/south interstate highway through the South Side of Chicago.

The child was shot in the back seat of a northbound car on I-94 north of 115th Street, according to Illinois State Police.

Her mother heard a gunshot at 11:15 a.m. while driving and then realized the baby was struck in the temple.

Then there is a 14-year-old who was shot multiple times. Boy, 14, critically wounded in Englewood shooting.

Englewood is one of the 77 neighborhoods in Chicago. It is on the South Side of the city.

He was on the street about 8:45 p.m. in the 900 block of West Marquette Road when someone came up and fired shots, Chicago police said. The teen was struck multiple times and taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in critical condition.

It doesn’t exactly sound random, but the anti-gun folks would count this as a “teen tragically shot” if they actually cared about shootings on the South Side of Chicago. Which they don’t. But whatever the motivation of the shooter, I would say it is one more bit of evidence that civilization is falling apart.

I’m sure that in both cases it will be everyone’s fault but the person who pulled the trigger… And the fault of an inanimate object.

And since neither incident was part of a protest, they won’t be National News; it doesn’t feed anyone’s narrative. Just life in Chicago. Or death sometimes. But in these cases both victims survived. So far at least.
