PHOENIX — A Nogales police officer was killed after he was shot multiple times when he attempted to apprehend a carjacking suspect during a traffic stop, officials said.

Officer Jesus “Chuy” Cordova, 44, died Friday, police said.

Ramirez, 29, is survived by his wife and two young children. He’s been in law enforcement for more than seven years, with stops at the Williston Police Department and Levy County Sheriff’s Office.

Lindsey, 25, joined the Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office in 2013.

The guy who shot them took his own life.

POMONA – After a 15-hour standoff at an apartment complex that sent residents fleeing, a man accused of shooting two Pomona police officers [on Friday], killing one and wounding the second, was arrested on Saturday afternoon.

The slain officer was Gregory Casillas, 30, of Upland.

Police Officer Justin Billa was shot and killed while assisting in the apprehension of a man who had just murdered his ex-wife.

Investigators at the scene of the original murder identified the subject as a person of interest. Officer Billa, along with other officers, went to the man’s home on Avondale Court to make contact with him. As the officers arrived on scene the subject exited the home and opened fire on them, striking Officer Billa. Another officer returned fire as the subject retreated back into the home.

Cmdr. Paul Bauer, 53, was shot to death at the Thompson Center after chasing a man fleeing from tactical officers who tried to stop him, police officials said. Bauer confronted the man, who opened fire as the two struggled, killing the 31-year department veteran, according to police officials and other sources. Bauer had been in the area after attending “active shooter” training, which prepares officers for mass shootings. He also had a meeting with aldermen scheduled for later in the day.

Officers Eric Joering and Tony Morelli

Died in the line of duty today in a suburb of Columbus, OH. Police: 2 officers killed responding to 911; suspect held

Officer Eric Joering was 39 years old. Officer Tony Morelli was 54 years old. They were responding to a “domestic disturbance” call.

“The officers gave their lives in defense of others,” Morbitzer said, struggling to keep his emotions in check. “They’re true American heroes.”

Locust Grove Police Department officer Chase Maddox was killed in the line of duty today. He was 26-years-old and had been in the Locust Grove Police Department for about 5 years.

Henry County deputies Michael Corley and Ralph Sidwell “Sid” Callaway were shot in the same incident that claimed the life of Officer Maddox.

The guy who shot the three of them is also dead.

Texas Officer Killed

Officer Ken Copeland, a veteran of the San Marcos Police Department since March 1998, was serving a warrant in the El Camino Real subdivison of the city when he was fatally shot, Police Chief Chase Stapp confirmed during a press conference Monday night.

One Border Patrol Agent Dead, One in the Hospital

[Border Patrol Agent Rogelio] Martinez, 36, died in West Texas while on a patrol on Sunday morning, according to the federal authorities. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection did not provide many details about the incident, but Texas Senator Ted Cruz described it as an “attack.”

The government has not given the name of the injured agent.

They were responding to an alarm on the border.

Baltimore Homicide Detective Killed

Detective Sean Suiter, an 18-year veteran of the Baltimore police force was killed in the line of duty. He was shot once in the head.

Baltimore, while it doesn’t have as many homicides as Chicago, has a higher rate of homicide. And this incident took place in an area of the city that is suffering from a lot of crime.

I’m not drowning in the 24-hr news cycle, but I didn’t see this anywhere. Maybe it got coverage.

What I also don’t see is the mayor making a big deal, or any of SJW organizations turning out to decry a senseless death. But then I really didn’t expect either of those things in a case like this.

Detective Suiter is survived by his wife and five children.

Ohio Police Officer Fatally Shot

According to Harrison, four of his officers were on patrol near the intersection of Tara Lane and Lake Forest Boulevard about 12:15 a.m. when they spotted something they considered suspicious. …

As the officers stepped out of the vehicle, a man opened fire at them, Harrison said, striking one of the officers multiple times. At least one of the officers returned fire and apparently struck the attacker.

The officer killed was 29-year-old Marcus McNeil. “He is the 5th officer killed in the line of duty in the last 4 years.”

2 Cops Ambushed in Pennsylvania

2 cops were called to the scene of domestic disturbance.

“Upon their arrival, the two officers were ambushed. They were shot with an unknown type of firearm,” Trooper Melinda Bonderanka said.

“When it first started, one was bleeding badly. The shooter had everyone pinned down when they were trying to get him. I don’t know where he was shot,” a firefighter said.

One officer is dead; the other is expected to survive.

The department says they’re assessing the legitimacy of the threat to kill officers on Sixth Street and they’re taking all steps necessary to protect their officers.

The threat comes days after five officers were killed and 11 others were injured in Dallas by a lone gunman who said he wanted to kill cops. Shooter, Micah Johnson, was an Army veteran who served a stint in Afghanistan and was living in Mesquite with his family at the time of the shooting.

The Bad Guys Won this Round: fatal shooting of 2 officers

The officers have been identified as Benjamin Deen, 34, of the Sumrall area and Liquori Tate, 25, of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Deen had been a past recipient of “Officer of the Year.” Tate had graduated from the police academy in 2014.

Officer DeenWarren Strain, a spokesman for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety. said Marvin Banks, 29, and Joanie Calloway, 22, were each charged with two counts of capital murder.

Banks was also charged as a felon in possession of a gun, and for stealing the police cruiser. Banks’ brother was charged as an accessory after the fact.

These were the first line-of-duty deaths in Hattiesburg, Mississippi in 3 decades.
