This is fairly ingenious. America Doesn’t Have A Justice System Anymore.
The good news is that you might get out of future jury duty, because when you are asked under oath about your own biases during a federal criminal case jury selection you would have to answer honestly by responding, “Your Honor, I don’t trust a damn thing anyone in the FBI says.”
Oh, and if an FBI agent asks if he can ask you some questions, try not to burst into laughter before you reply, “No, I assert my right to remain silent” and call your lawyer.
Find more on the reasons not to talk to the FBI, or any police officer, after the break.
Then there is the arrogance.
My favorite part is how those bastards were so arrogant that they wrote all this down, like a Bond villain who casually explains his entire plan to 007 because he’s positive that the spy is just moments away from being taken away and killed by his henchmen. And it worked out just as well in real life.
As they say, go read the whole thing. (Hat tip to Doug Ross.)
They were searching for a guy who had been arrested 12 hours earlier. Authorities shot a woman during a botched raid at her home. The real suspect was already in jail.
I’d say that they need some new procedures.
Speaking with local media, Mobile County Sheriff Sam Cochran acknowledged that Rylee was never a suspect and blamed authorities’ errors on a “miscommunication.” Officers were searching for 41-year-old Nicholas McLeod, who, according to jail records, had been booked more than 12 hours earlier on drug charges. Cochran said police would not have gone to the house had they known he was already in custody.
So there will be no one held accountable. As per usual. Cops can show up at your door at any time of day or night, and when they surprise you awake, they can shoot you because you respond to surprise. Good thing we live in a free country, I would hate to live in a police state.
So an FBI agent (unnamed) left his vehicle running while he pumped gas. What could go wrong? Second City Cop: Four More Guns on West Side
About 12:10 a.m., a 32-year-old man left his vehicle “momentarily unattended with the engine running” in the 300 block of South Morgan, according to Chicago Police
Seriously? I have to guess he was a suburbanite who had never been in the big city. Any big city. (I guess he thought he was in Mayberry, or perhaps he thought the FBI aura prevented crimes.)
thanks to a dumb-ass FBI agent, the offender now has a Chevy Equinox, a M4, a Glock 17, a Glock 22, a Glock 27, 2 vests, full tank of gas…
That last is from 2nd City Cop. He knows more about the FBI than I do, and the papers aren’t mentioning the guns. Wouldn’t want to scare the citizens, or make it a question when they call for more gun control. (The title of the post is borrowed from one of the comments.)
(Update: They have recovered the vehicle and some of the equipment, but still no mention of the guns. Second City Cop: No Word on the Guns)
