If you even try to break into a home in Texas, you may attract the attention of an armed homeowner. Fort Worth Homeowner Shoots, Critically Injures Suspected Intruder.

And I love the fact that he was alerted via an app on his phone.

Police say the homeowner was in his garage when he opened an app on his phone and saw a man at his front door through a camera trying to turn the doorknob and get into the house. The homeowner shot through the door, striking the man in the neck, wrist and arm.

The homeowner was not arrested, because besides being a human-right, in Texas, self-defense is your legal right.

Smoked Goblin? Aisle 5

Somehow I should have known that there would be a store in Texas called “The Cowboy Convenience Store.” Cowboy Store clerk shoots robbery suspect in failed Fort Worth holdup.

A Fort Worth convenience store clerk fended off an armed robber with a firearm of his own Monday morning, police said.

Did he think this was New Jersey? Texans are heavily armed.

The clerk shot the guy in the leg. It is not considered a life-threatening injury.

How Would You Respond to a “Half-naked” Home-invader At 3 AM?

This is Texas we’re talking about, so the result is not surprising. Fort Worth man shoots half-naked home intruder, police say.

“The homeowner shot the suspect that was attempting to enter the home in the chest,” police spokesman Brad Perez said.

“The suspect is expected to survive his injuries. I was advised that he was wearing a shirt only.”

He was shot once in his left chest, and is in intensive care at a local hospital. (He is lucky to be alive.) He will be booked once he recovers from his injury.

Don’t Bring a Knife to a Gunfight

Crazy can be hazardous to your health. Fort Worth Homeowner Shoots, Kills Intruder

A family of 5 was home when a guy armed with a knife thought it would be a great idea to force his way inside. He miscalculated.

The husband and father grabbed a rifle, called 911, and tried to get the guy to leave.

While on the phone with 911, police say the intruder continued making threats on the family and trashing items inside the house, then we’re told he attempted to run towards one of the rooms.

He was shot, and killed, but not before cutting the homeowner with his knife.

Texans Are Still Armed…

And home-invaders are still getting shot. Fort Worth home invasion suspect killed – Story | KDFW

Police said they got a call around 8:30 a.m. from a man who lives in the 4000 block of Miami Springs Drive. He said his son had just fired shots at two men who kicked in their door.

One bad-guy was pronounced dead in a neighbor’s driveway. The other bad guy got away.

According to another article that son was a teenager. A hard thing to do at any age, but I hope he realizes that he did what needed doing.

If you break into homes, you will eventually find an armed resident. The results should not surprise anyone.
