Written by a former Federal Prosecutor. In a world where accusations of bias are screamed, it is nice to see someone lay out the facts calmly. The Politicization of the FBI – Imprimis
Over the past year, facts have emerged that suggest there was a plot by high-ranking FBI and Department of Justice (DOJ) officials in the Obama administration, acting under color of law, to exonerate Hillary Clinton of federal crimes and then, if she lost the election, to frame Donald Trump and his campaign for colluding with Russia to steal the presidency. This conduct was not based on mere bias, as has been widely claimed, but rather on deeply felt animus toward Trump and his agenda.
It is worth the time. [Hat tip to The Road Kill Diaries.]
If you’re a political junkie then you might enjoy this. If not, bits might still be interesting. How Clinton lost Michigan — and blew the election – POLITICO
There are a lot of details about how campaigns are usually run, and what Clinton did differently, or mostly didn’t do in Michigan. (No yard signs, no campaign literature, no door-to-door…)
But I think you can roll it all up into one quote, that captures the essence of the East Coast/West Coast view of the middle America.
When the folks in Clinton’s Brooklyn campaign headquarters were asked to make investments in Michigan, they didn’t because they “knew” Clinton was going to win Michigan.
“They believed they were more experienced, which they were. They believed they were smarter, which they weren’t,” said Donnie Fowler, who was consulting for the Democratic National Committee during the final months of the campaign. “They believed they had better information, which they didn’t.”
They didn’t need to listen to a bunch of people who weren’t smart enough to live in New York! They KNEW Hilary was going to win. They could prove it to you.
And today they feel the same way. It is the racists. The sexists. The Russians. It is anybody’s fault but their own. They are not responsible. (Progressives, huh.) The Buck does NOT stop anywhere near their desks. [Hat tip Small Dead Animals.]
Obama was advertised as “the smartest President ever.” But his VP was a blithering idiot, and his first Secretary of State was completely out of her depth. Ex-British diplomat accuses Hillary Clinton of role in meltdown of Iraq – Telegraph. And I’m not convinced he is the smartest President ever. He certainly isn’t the best, and I wouldn’t call him the most thoughtful. The comparison that usually comes to mind is with Jimmy Carter.
Emma Sky, who served as an adviser to one of the top US commanders in Iraq, claims in a new book that Mrs Clinton operated a “dysfunctional” diplomatic mission to Baghdad that allowed a lapse back into sectarian warfare after elections in 2010.
She has things to say about Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Barack Obama.
While the demand for a speedy drawdown from Iraq was driven primarily by Mr Obama himself, Mrs Clinton is accused of appointing an incompetent US ambassador to Baghdad, Chris Hill, who had little experience of the region and held its people in contempt.
It is hard to accomplish anything with people you despise. You would think that Iraq would have commanded a bit more attention, but that supposes that you didn’t want to see Iraq (a Bush/Republican thing) as a disaster. Well it worked, it is pretty much a disaster today – at least in parts.
It is beautiful that the internet is forever. (Except in Europe where they will now forget. McCain, Obama, Clinton push dangerous vaccine-autism myth – Salon.com.
Shocking to discover that politicians pander to the populace. Well, not too shocking, if you are paying attention to anything that has gone on in DC for the past 50 or 60 years or so.
Yet the vaccine-autism myth has been kept alive by celebrities like Jenny McCarthy, who pushed the theory in a book and on “Oprah” last year, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who made the case in an article for Rolling Stone and Salon.
During the last few months, John McCain, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton have gotten into the act.
OK, so it isn’t as damning as I would like it to be, but there it is. Folks on both sides of the aisle ignoring the science to pander to political concerns. What a shock.
