Van Drives Through Republican Voter Registration Booth

The Headline doesn’t mention “Republican” voter registration booth. Jacksonville, Florida. Van plows through voter registration tent, narrowly missing volunteers.

Jacksonville police say a driver intentionally crashed a van through a tent where Duval County GOP volunteers were registering voters Saturday afternoon.

Nobody was injured in the 3:45 p.m. incident at the Walmart Supercenter

Police are mystified about what the motive might be. Hint: It rhymes with “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

One of the volunteers managed to snap a photo of the van as it drove away, but it isn’t clear to me if you can make out a license plate.

Security people. The Left has become unhinged from the standards of civilization. Security is now required everywhere.

Jacksonville, Florida 2019 Murders

And statistics are sexist. And racist. 2019 was Jacksonville’s deadliest year in decades.

While it’s still possible police may discover more homicides that occurred in 2019, increasing these numbers even higher, as of the end of New Year’s Eve, Jacksonville had seen 158 homicides, the highest number since the Times-Union began keeping track in 2006.

Oh, and we’re confused…

We obviously don’t know why Jacksonville’s homicides have been rising or why in 2019 it continued to rise.

No, we have no clue. It couldn’t be the war on police, that started in 2015 or 2016. It couldn’t be drugs or anything like that… We’re just baffled.

As for the sexist/racist nature of reality…

For one: the increase in Jacksonville’s homicides is entirely driven by male victims. The number of female victims actually decreased from 2018. In 2019, 132 men died from homicides in Jacksonville, compared to 99 in 2018.

While Jacksonville’s overall homicide rate is higher than elsewhere in Florida, the homicide rate among black men is even higher. One in 6,151 Jaxsons were killed in 2019 compared to one in 1,386 black men.

So if black men are more likely to be the victims of murder, how is fighting crime racist, if it saves black men? I am really confused. Maybe someone on the Left can explain how saving of black lives would be racist.

And I’m appalled that women are not equal with men in all things. Even bad things. </sarcasm>.

Armed Homeowner Meets Armed Intruder

Are you surprised at what happened? Police: Jacksonville man shoots intruder found inside home.

The unnamed homeowner told investigators he had just gotten home when he saw a woman he did not recognize inside his residence carrying one of his rifles.

The homeowner was detained for questioning, and the woman went to a hospital.

Self-defense is a human-right, and mostly your legal right in Florida.

Neighbors Are Shocked

Shocked to discover that their zip code doesn’t protect them from crime. Police say attempted burglary leaves one man shot to death in Spring Park.

One person is dead, and another detained. Cops won’t say if it is a homeowner or intruder who was shot. So, on to the neighbors.

“There’s crime everywhere, but I didn’t expect it around the block,” neighbor Melanie Blackburn said. “It’s concerning. That shouldn’t happen in the neighborhood.”

If you can read this, then you live in The Real World™ and not Mayberry RFD or Pleasantville. And in the Real World crime can, and sometimes does happen. Unless you live in a gated community, with guards, where you live doesn’t ensure no crime. Statistics are all about averages, not absolutes.

Floridians Are Almost As Heavily Armed As Texans

The bad guys don’t seem to have gotten that memo. 18-year-old arrested, accused of felony murder, burglary after pair try to break into Jacksonville home.

Two would-be bad-guys try to break into a Jacksonville home, where one guy knocks on the front door, while the other heads to the back door. They find an armed homeowner is there, and when he realizes what is going on, he gets a gun, and then tries to call 911.

Before he could dial 911, the front door was kicked in and he came in contact with a man later identified as 37-year-old Demetrile Davis.

Police said the homeowner then fired his gun at Davis several times before Davis fled the home.

The homeowner remained inside and called 911, JSO said.

When police arrived in the 7600 block of Pilgrims Trace Drive they found Christopher Mangham, 18, trying to revive Davis.

The one guy was pronounced dead at the scene. The other guy was arrested and charged with felony murder.

Another Failure of the Victim-selection Process

Bad Guy with a gun, stopped by Good Guy with a gun. JSO: Suspected robber shot by employee at MetroPCS.

According to the police report, Deschion Baskerville went into the MetroPCS, pulled a gun on a female clerk and demanded money, threatening to kill her. She handed over some money, then ran into the office and told a co-worker what was happening.

That co-worker was armed. The guy who got shot has been charged with Armed Robbery. I’m guessing that his day didn’t turn at all the way he planned it.

How Would You Respond?

To someone breaking windows of your home at 3 o’clock in the morning, and trying to gain entry? Man shot, killed by Mandarin homeowner after attempted home invasion.

People inside the home called 911 to report the guy trying to get in.

When officers arrived at the home around 3:15 a.m. they said the resident had shot and killed the person outside.

What did he think would happen? This isn’t New Jersey, after all.

So It Is A Question of Mental Health

As per usual. In Howard County, parents of Jacksonville shooting suspect had been desperate to find psychiatric care for son.

[The parents] had tried psychiatric care in Towson and Rockville, enrolled him in public and private schools, and even sent him to Utah for a therapeutic wilderness school for teens.

Court records show his behavior was still worrisome.

He was on psychoactive drugs in his youth, but it doesn’t say anything about recently. And the psychiatrist said he should pose no danger to anyone except his mother.

By 12 years old, he was taking Risperdal, an anti-psychotic drug to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, his father said in court records. He often missed school and resisted treatment, sometimes curling into a ball. His father said the boy would appear to be “looking right through you.”

But the Left will blame the NRA, the gun, but never the person.

We Are Always Told To Cooperate to Ensure Our Safety

The gun-hating Left is always going on about “If you give the bad guy what he wants, he will leave you alone”. I guess this guy didn’t get that memo. Clerk shot during Arlington gas station armed robbery.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says the suspect walked in to the store off Arlington Road and the Arlington Expressway a little after 10:30AM. He allegedly demanded money from the employee, and even though police say the victim complied, the suspect shot the clerk in the torso and then fled.

Violent criminals do not stop being violent criminals because you are cooperating. They remain violent criminals independent of your actions.

Cooperation is a strategy. There are other strategies – like being armed in your own defense. I believe that some strategies are better than others.

Oh, and in 2018, we should have better quality security video. Just sayin’.

‡ regarding the crime of rape: Leftists never want to discuss rape when they bring up that “cooperate” strategy. Did I say never? I meant mostly, because some WILL advise cooperation with a rapist, which isn’t so much as stupid, as purely evil advice.

“They were motivated to get away”

That’s what happens when home-invaders encounter an armed homeowner. JSO: Jacksonville home invasion stopped when resident pulls gun | WJAX-TV

A pair of “young” suspects were likely forced to escape through a second-story window when a homeowner pulled a gun during a home invasion on Monday, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.

They forced their way into someone’s home, but that someone was at home. The homeowner shot at the pair. They beat a hasty retreat out a 2nd story window.

One of the subjects was injured (it doesn’t say how). He was captured a short distance away and taken to a hospital. His companion remains on the loose.

If you break into homes, you will eventually find an armed homeowner. These two are lucky tho homeowner wasn’t a better shot.

Self-defense is a human-right.

A Violent Confrontation Between an Armed Homeowner and an Intruder

Can you guess how things turned out? Man shot during home invasion on Westside |

Floridians are damn near as heavily armed as Texans, but the bad guys just haven’t gotten that memo.

Police are investigating a violent confrontation between a homeowner and an intruder.

Police said the homeowner directed them to his back yard, where they found a man lying on the ground with a gunshot wound.

Neighbors aren’t shocked, quite, by this kind of crime.

“I think people are getting more and more worried about this kind of thing,” Aldrich said.

According to JSO’s crime map, there have been 20 residential burglaries within a one-mile radius of the home in the last year.

At least they don’t think they live in Pleasantville.
