Saturday Links

A collection of links from this week in the blogosphere. Enjoy.

No Lawyers, Only Guns and Money has a rundown of Democrat State Party Platforms – Oklahoma To South Carolina.

In case you have questions about how your state’s Democrats are hoping to eliminate your Second Amendment Rights.

The Raconteur Report has a story about Government, Being Itself.

Because all the crimes are under control, Oak Park, Michigan has decided to take on the scourge of Halloween costumes.

City officials have banned clown costumes because they are too scary.

They apparently haven’t heard of the First Amendment in that part of Michigan.

The Other McCain has a post, A Dangerous Right-Wing Extremist, that points out how what William Jefferson Clinton said in his 1995 State of the Union address would have him labeled as exactly that. (Video at the link.)

We are a nation of immigrants. But we are also a nation of laws. It is wrong and ultimately self-defeating for a nation of immigrants to permit the kind of abuse of our immigration laws we have seen in recent years, and we must do more to stop it.

Pirate’s Cove has the least-shocking news story of the year. Surprise: NJ Solar Industry Set To Collapse Without Massive Subsidies.

There’s a difference between tax breaks and subsidies. I’m not going to bother explaining it, the Internet is your friend, and people who constantly yammer about subsidies for oil companies are clueless fools. Especially when all these “alternative” and supposedly green industries just like solar receive both.

SiGraybeard has a video posted that wins the Internet. I’m Not Saying I’d Like to Build One…. (It isn’t his work, but it is wonderful.)

The description of the video is…

A two year project by metalsmith Seth Gould, forged and filed from scratch, set to the percussive sounds of his workshop.

It is definitely worth 5 minutes of your time. It is one of the best examples of craftsmanship I have ever seen. And it’s cool.
