Smalltown Boy

Bronski Beat is a synthpop trio from Britain. The entire band was openly gay, which was a big thing in 1984, especially since their music reflected that. (CDC published the first article – about what would later be known as AIDS – in 1981.)

This song is “Smalltown Boy” from their 1984 debut album The Age of Consent. It was fairly high in the European charts, and it broke the top 100 in the US.
