California – progressive utopia or 3rd world shit-hole?

Fist up is a story of poetic justice. Because revenge is sometimes best left to the universe to work out. Homeless and Giant Rats Spread Typhus to LA City Officials.

Los Angeles legalized homelessness and then subsidized it and spread it around. The trash and waste bred rats, fleas and diseases.

And now that disease – typhus – is being visited on the LA City Officials.

Rats and fleas infest LA’s City Hall and City Hall East. Rats and fleas… isn’t that the vector that spread the Black Plague?

There is more information at the original article from NBC Los Angeles: Typhus Epidemic Worsens in Los Angeles.

You see the thing about infectious disease, it might be spread by homeless people, but it doesn’t only infect the homeless.

Added [Deputy City Attorney Liz] Greenwood: “This is a terrible illness and I wouldn’t wish this on anybody. But it’s not just homeless folks getting it.”

Greenwood contracted the disease after working in City Hall East.

Not to be outdone by LA, San Francisco finds new ways to reach for the low points in modern life. San Francisco Has More Drug Addicts Than Public High School Students, Health Dept Survey finds.

“There are about 24,500 injection drug users in San Francisco — that’s about 8,500 more people than the nearly 16,000 students enrolled in San Francisco Unified School District’s 15 high schools”

Because if you go out of your way to make things “easier” or cheaper, you will get more of it.

From the SF Chronicle:

And in an effort to reduce infections and disease transmission among injection drug users, the city also handed out a record 5.8 million free syringes last year — about 500,000 more than in 2017.

Isn’t that called “enabling?”
