The Geniuses at the CDC Notice the Real World

Updated with link to the story on Germany.

The Real World™ where they can’t control for everything. CDC to test more suspected cases of coronavirus after revising guidelines. But then the CDC isn’t alone in ignoring COVID-19

Under the prior federal guidelines, clinicians could test suspected coronavirus patients if they had traveled recently from China or had contact with someone known to be infected.

When a clinician or public health individual suspects coronavirus then we should be able to get a test for coronavirus, CDC’s Redfield said.

This was after they delayed a test for days because they didn’t see how they could be mistaken for any reason.

Is this an improvement? “Too little, too late,” comes to mind.

In another mindbogglingly stupid lack of action by authorities, and a lack of common sense among people, Germany didn’t stop Carnival celebrations, and since the .gov didn’t tell folks to stay home they didn’t. Now 300 are under house quarantine.

Authorities called on approximately 300 visitors of a carnival event in nearby Gangelt which the man visited on February 15th to report to authorities.

All carnival-goers and their families must go into domestic quarantine for 14 days, the North Rhine-Westphalia Health Ministry announced early Thursday.

People need to think for themselves. And governments need to get off their asses. While it still looks like the mortality rate is 2 to 3 percent (not counting Iran’s 10 percent) that is a lot of dead people if things go on the way they have been.
