The 19-year-old said he was asleep inside the home in northeast Hickory when two men broke in armed with a handgun.
“I opened one eye because my dog was whimpering. When I opened it there were two men standing over top of me,” Freeman Haney said.
He grabbed a firearm and defended himself.
A guy with several gunshot wounds walked into a local hospital a short time later. Police are interviewing him.
Self-defense is a human-right, but for some reason I have a feeling they are going to charge this kid with something, because Prosecutors HATE self-defense.
