Longtime Democratic Tennessee state lawmaker Rep. John DeBerry Jr. says people refusing to acknowledge the violent riots going on in America right now are fooling themselves, and warned his colleagues in a powerful floor speech this month that such behavior must be condemned and stopped.

There is apparently no place for Christians in the Democratic party in The Volunteer State.

The widowed father and grandfather makes no secret that he believes life begins at conception.

That, he contends, is not a Republican stand.

“It is a biblical stand,” he told The Christian Chronicle in a lengthy, wide-ranging interview. “It is a moral stand. It is an ethical stand.”

The Left it seems is tolerant of everything except for differing views. They kicked him out of the Democratic primary in the hopes that it would keep him off the ballot. Doing it at a time when they believed it would just mean he was out.

But the Republican-led legislature voted to amend state elections rules so that DeBerry could run as an Independent in November. He is facing a Democrat, and no Republicans are in the race.

An interesting choice by the Republicans.

Freedom? What does that have to do with the modern Left? Democrats Have Abandoned Civil Liberties.

Warrantless surveillance, multiple illegal leaks of classified information, a false statements charge constructed on the razor’s edge of Miranda, and the use of never-produced, secret counterintelligence evidence in a domestic criminal proceeding – this is the “rule of law” we’re being asked to cheer.

Because nothing is more important than defending the Democrats. Not defending the Constitution. Not defending Liberty. Just “The Party.”

It’s Funny How the Rules Change

Remember when anti-Trump rhetoric was about his supposed violation of “norms”? Remember when Trump’s criticism of hostile media was considered a threat to a free press? Yeah, forget all that: [SNIP]

As recently as May 3, the Biden campaign considered it “authoritarian” to criticize “independent media,” but when the media reports that Biden was part of the Obama administration’s illegal surveillance of their political opponents, suddenly the standards change.

Maybe “funny” isn’t the right word.

Maxine Waters, AOC and Joe Biden are conspicuous by their absence, because they are each getting their own top 10 lists.

The number 1 item is Hank Johnson wondering if an island might capsize. And remember, Democrats are sure that they are smarter than anyone who isn’t a Democrat. Other highlights include one of my favorites, Barack Obama saying that he had already visited all 57 states.

I do take exception with #2, which was Bill Clinton asking for a definition of the word “Is.” That wasn’t stupid so much as it was crooked.

COVID-19: The Urban Disease

Blacks are disproportionately impacted by the disease, and the Left’s explanation is “more underlying conditions,” which do contribute. But the thing that the Left and the media (but I repeat myself) ignore is population density. Mostly because their world-view doesn’t allow them to see population density as anything but a good thing.

What goes unmentioned in such explanations is that black people are also disproportionately likely to live in high-density urban areas and to use public transportation. Why do you think New York City became such a death trap in this pandemic? Millions of people ride the subway there every day, and the city’s population density is the highest in America. Because urban life is also highly correlated with voting Democrat, the Chinese virus also has a partisan bias. Republican voters tend to live in suburbs, small towns and rural areas, regions where the COVID-19 infection rate is lower. A “stay-at-home” order will help reduce the spread of a contagious disease far more effectively if you live in a single-family home than if you live in a crowded apartment complex, and so the residential patterns of Democrats are part of the risk patterns that have political consequences.

I haven’t looked recently, but sometime after the stay-at-home/social-distancing measures started, there was still video from both New York City and Chicago of crowded trains, and people generally not keeping “social distance.” So how do you protect people from themselves, or the place they live? You can’t. People who love NYC can’t be talked into understanding the problems that it brings on them.

Democratic Primary Updates

I am so tired of Democratic Presidential candidates at this point in time I would rather watch NFL football, or The Oscars. Warren Fades; Democrats Worried UPDATE: Cory Booker Drops Out.

Warren is having trouble fundraising. Bloomberg is spending a lot of his own money on himself. As is Steyer. And Cory Booker has called it quits to concentrate on his senate campaign.

Obviously, this proves that the Democrat Party hates black men.

Heh. (I expect someone to announce they are running for 2024 any day now.)
